Seven books of Tony Grogan’s drawings and paintings have been published for which he also wrote the text. These are in the form of sketchbook diaries in which he records his observations and experiences in his travels in different parts of Southern Africa. These books received critical acclaim and have become valued Africana. Titles are : Vanishing Cape Tow(1976)n, Vanishing Villages(1978), Settler Country(1980)y, Tony Grogan’s South African Sketchbook(1984);Between Cape and Cairo (Drawings of Malawi) (1995); Tony Grogan’s Cape Town Sketchbook(2002) and Tony Grogan’s Eastern Cape Sketchbook.

All ,with the exception of Between Cape and Cairo published by Central Africana Ltd, were published by Don Nelson Publishers.

Most of these books are now out of print and not available in the normal bookshops . Only Tony Grogan’s Cape Town Sketchbook and Tony Grogan’s Eastern Cape are still available and can be ordered from the author at R240 for the former and R260 for the latter book. Cost does not include postage. They have 128 pages beautifully printed in full colour and of a coffee table format.
